Art for the Heart

I’m Molly Howell, an artist and Art Therapist with over 15 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults find healing through creativity. I’ve worked in both clinical and community settings—including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Daystar Counseling Ministries in Nashville—offering support through art-making and self-expression.

I launched POPACO (Pop-of-color), a creative camp for children, during the pandemic, and continue to lead art playgroups, summer camps, and community-based art experiences that foster connection, growth, and joy.

Today, I also offer wellness-focused art sessions for women in New York City and beyond—gatherings designed for reflection, rest, and creativity. These experiences extend to corporate wellness events, retreats, and group settings, where I guide participants in reconnecting with themselves and each other through the creative process.

At the core of all my work is a belief in the power of creativity to restore, inspire, and transform.

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of therapy that uses the creative process to help individuals explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, and heal from challenges. As an art therapist, I guide clients through creating art in a safe, non-judgmental space, allowing them to express feelings that might be difficult to put into words. The act of making art can help uncover deeper emotions, process trauma, and promote personal growth. Whether it's through drawing, painting, or other creative methods, art therapy empowers individuals to explore their inner world, gain insight, and build resilience, all while fostering a sense of connection and well-being.
